We welcome debate on these in our online community. There’s plenty of work needed to sharpen these into firm policies, but to start with hopefully everyone involved can agree on the key issues.
PS. Dear @LiberalAus, I suspect this might have been a better policy platform for the 2025 election?
In short:
Australia has immense energy resources, but poor policy and a rush to Net Zero have sent prices soaring. Energy is a primary input cost on most goods and services, making everything else more expensive too. Remove all subsidies and restrictions, let the free market optimise our energy mix.
A Clean Environment, minus the rush to Net Zero
Clean air, water and vibrant nature enrich all our lives. However, the rush to Net Zero has come at a huge cost, when Australia contributes just 1% of global emissions. Technological development will lead to a Net Zero future regardless, we don’t need to push it so destructively.
Balanced budgets, bold tax and economic reforms and less intervention will unlock productivity and trade growth, and boost private-sector wealth creation. Fight to keep Australia’s AAA credit rating.
Reduced and Sustainable Immigration
Skilled and hard-working migrants are a powerhouse for wealth and innovation. Numbers must be capped at more sustainable levels though, while we expand housing, services and infrastructure.
